Yup, today is the first day of school. Normally during the first day, it is normal to get lost. But is not me, other people did. Haha. You still can see people coming in 30 minutes after the stated time for the lectures...
CS1101 Programming Methodology
I fell into the allocated Group Number 1. Although this time I am not in the same Lecture Group with Russell, I still see a few familiar faces in my group. There are also from TPJC! Qing Heng and Qixiang. But so far, since they are my new friends, we did not really talk much. Qing Heng already knew Qixiang, so of course they will talk to each other more. During the lesson, I found out one interesting thing. There was one moment when an answer to one question in the lecture notes was flashed on the screen. The notes itself does not have any solution, so we are required to copy down as fast as we could. At the instant, when the 3 of us took our pens and wrote, my attention turned to the way how we picked it up and wrote instead of copying the solution... Because all 3 of us are left-handers!!! I never really see 3 males left-handers sitting together in a row... Haha.
The lecturer introduced some new things which made me quite confused... When I'm still in my confusion, he actually assigned us homework! That's was fast... The "supposingly-3-hours-lecture" ended 30 minutes earlier for our group. That means I have 2 hours and 30 minutes to rot...
GEK1527 Genes and Society
I forgot that the website has already stated that the date of the first lecture will begin next week. However, Russell and I still decided to check it out since we have so much time. We went in 20 minutes after the time of the lecture, and found out that the lecturer was nowhere to be seen. But there were some people sitting in the LT staring at the blank air. After confirming from the website once more, one of the student in the LT announced to the other students, and so the room became empty and quiet again.
Russell and I went back the SoC once more to meet up with Edwin and Ying Cong. We stayed there for a while to configure our laptops so that we can have access to the wireless net and printer before the next lecture began.
MA1521 Calculus for Computing
Russell and I rushed down to the LT since we were quite late. Russell's friend directed us to sit beside her. I looked around and saw quite a number of familiar faces that appeared in the FoW. Moments later, Jing Sheng came in as well, so we directed him to sit beside us. The lecture began with a brief introduction, then went on to go through the first few pages. During those times, 3 people were busying with their activities: Russell kept dozing off; I was sketching away on some random piece of paper to keep myself awake; Jing Sheng was busying chatting with 3 people on MSN... I looked around and could also see people dozing off. What reallt amazed me is that Russell's friend could actually stay awake by just staring at the screen and fidgetting her pencil.
The lecturer later claimed that he was supposed to give a short break in lectures, but he did not allowed for this session because he was afraid that he would not have enough time to finish on time. After about 10 minutes since he said that, he suddenly ended the whole lecture... The time he used was only 1 hour when the scheduled timing for that lecture is 2 hours!!! He created quite a commotion in the LT, but everyone seemed glad to leave the place...
Russell and I went back to SoC once more to rest and to meet up with the 2 same guys (They taking different Maths module from us) again. We headed down to the bookstore for a while and then I accompanied them to McDonalds to have their dinner before we all went home together.
Haha! I finally got this in my hands!!! I have been eyeing this since I last saw it 2 weeks ago. Now, I can finally have a taste of it! But still, I think the Milk Tea tastes better. It is not a bad alternative though. =p
