Lies No More

It was a short 1.5 months. I ended my job as a Technician yesterday, but I'm not sure if it was my last day to be a Technician. My boss is interested to call me back when I'm having my next holiday. Actually, not only my boss, the colleagues in my department all feel the same.

Another thing was no one found out my true identity despite I kept exchanging casual contacts with my two aunts. There were two instants when my identity could be exposed.

One: Adrian, who came into the company by my aunt as well, did not know my identity as first. But he was damn close to my uncle, another sibling with my two aunts. And both of them see each other very frequently. I do not know if that is the reason Adrian knows the truth from my uncle, but it was a definite that, that connection with my uncle has something to do with my exposed identity. When he knows the truth, he talked to me in a volume that  people around us could hear it. At that time, there were two colleagues near by, but I was not close with them yet. So I thought they did not pay attention to our conversation. I quickly stopped Adrian from telling people in the company about it...

Two: There was a time when I was talking openly with my younger aunt about the loss of my IC and how the reporting in ICA went. Then, she suddenly slipped our family matters out from her mouth. It was loud enough that people within 5 metres radius could hear it. On the contrary, people ignored our conversation. Again, I chose to believe that the people were too engrossed in their work.

I thought it would be dramatic to have my identity exposed and I kept wondering in these 6 weeks what would happen if that really happens. Safely, it did not and people are still keep in the dark after I left.

The Chronic Challenge: Relapse the Time of Fate

I was inspired to write this story when I lost my wallet...

This is a story of a ordinary guy called Leon. One day, he was having his meal alone as usual, but he left his wallet carelessly. It was after 30 minutes when he realised it. When he went back to the cafeteria, it had already long gone. He quickly rushed out of the place, hoping to bump onto the person picking his wallet. He did not even care where was he going, or the things around him. Suddenly, he heard a honk and when he realised he was actually standing on a road, it was too late. Then, a white light blinded his sight...

When he regained his sight, he found himself not standing on the road anymore. The place around made him felt like as if he was already in heaven. Then, a God-like person appeared before him. He called himself Repeatel. He could send Leon back to the time before he lost his wallet. However, he had to fulfill certain missions in order to have the privilege. Leon needed to stop one of the gods called Fatel. He was the god that looked after the fate of each person. If necessary, he would step in to make changes to the fate of anybody who did unforgivable things. But he had been up to mischief lately and started to twist the fate of most people he was in charge. Stopping him sounded easy, but in fact Fatel was a tough opponent. Hence, Repeatel granted Leon power and gave him the title Time Reaper.

"You will be given the Power of Time. But in exchange you will need to put your life at risk."
"Will you help me?"
"Will you?"

These were the sentence emphasized by Repeatel.

As a Time Reaper, Leon had the abilities to grant any people with the same power as well. This allowed Leon to build up his army. Of course, after the whole journey, their memories and their powers would be erased.

Leon started his first mission to help those people whom fate was twisted by Fatel. He went back in time to stop the chain of events that led to the change of that person fate. The second victim was a friend of Leon, Terry. Leon revealed himself when helping Terry. Carrying the heart of justice, Terry agreed to join in the force. And so, the two of them team up and made their force bigger.

Fatel had known the existence of Time Reaper ever since Leon tried to revert the changes he made on the second time. He could not tolerate any longer. This time, he decided to make the biggest change on someone whom Leon had admired for so long, Janice.

It was the last Time Battle for Leon. Leon and his team came face-to-face with Fatel. However, Fatel was too powerful and soon only Leon and Terry were the last one standing. The others were badly injured to fight anymore. They passed all their remaining powers over to both of them. With the Greatest Power of Chronic, they finally vanquished Fatel.

However, they were shocked to see the true identity of Fatel was actually Repeatel!!! Repeatel was grateful to Leon and his friends. He was, in fact, possessed by the evil spirit which escaped from the Hades. He used his last few ounce of power to regain his true self, so that he could find someone to free him from the evil spirit. After he gave Leon the power, he was possessed again and became Fatel. Repeatel was glad that he did not choose the wrong person. With that, everyone had their powers and memories erased and was sent back to the moment before he lost his wallet...

Leon returned to the road when he was about to get crash by the car. But the car stopped just in time and the driver shouted at him before driving off. Leon paused for a moment and realised he was on his way to the cafeteria to have his lunch. When he reached there, he queued to get his food. He took out his wallet, and found some dark-feather like thing that did not belong to him. So he just flicked it somewhere. The feather-like thing flown onto someone's handphone, but it was seen possessing the item and it gave out a dark aura.

The owner left the cateferia without the phone. When he realised he lost it, he went panicky and he was seen getting knocked down by a car.........

85+201

The first night of skipping OT is for a gathering after Song Guan's back from Taiwan! Of course, he will want to eat something close to Singapore Food. So Pok Yen chose Bedok 85, and just nice, it is very near to my workplace.

I reached there on time and went to ATM to withdraw for some cash in case of insufficient money in my wallet. Then, I stared at the crowd in the hawker centre. I looked far, and didn't even realise that they were sitting right in front of me, and was so damn near. Like just 5 steps away... Can imagine how tired I was working so hard every day... All because of the money!!!

Anyway, we ordered the usual stuff one person would usually order when having a meal in Bedok 85. Food such as BBQ Stingray, Fried Carrot Cake, Fried Kway Teow, Minced Meat Noodle, Satay, etc. I was quite quiet throughout the dinner, probably there's nothing much to chat with them, even with Song Guan. I was listening to their jokes and conversation more.

After the meal, there was some bit of leftover, but everyone was full. So Pok Yen suggested 終級密码 and the lucky winner will have a bite. It was so funny to see the guys teasing and disturbing Eugene again. It hurt my stomach when it was so full and I had to laugh so hard.

Since all of us were so full, we thought of walking to the Reservoir and see how thing goes. On the way, I spent most of the time chatting with Tze Keong and Yi Sheng. But most of time, I was the one who ended one topic and there was a moment of silence before the other spoke up again with another topic. I realised I'm always poor at starting a conversation with a very good topic, or worst, just keep quiet and wait for the others to start another topic. If no one start, the silence will just remain as it is...

As we walked and talked, we soon found ourselves at Safra, then at my house downstairs, then at 201! Song Guan then wanted to drink Teh Tarik at Mr Teh Tarik, which is a normal Muslim Coffee Shop, and carried on with our chat.

Ever since Yi Sheng got his iPhone, he would just take it out and Facebook once in a while. So we just snatched it over and made fun of him and Pok Yen checking into Hotel 81! Haha.

The night was short. But it was definitely the night that made me realised that I still have some life during these hardcore 6 weeks of daily OT.

Jealousy

Ever since I started working as a Technician, I have been working nearly 3 weeks straight plus full OT. This is all because of the money that I planning to save for my future plans.

Indeed, I have been complaining that I'm too poor.
However,
I'm not jealous over people who can buy anything they wanted.
I'm not jealous over people who own branded stuff.
I'm not jealous over people who are smarter than me.
I'm not jealous over people who can earn big money.
I'm not jealous over people who look more handsome than me.

Strangely, I'm only jealous over people who keep posting their overseas photos on facebook.
Why would the hell they keep showing off their photos, especially to someone like me who can't afford to go overseas and to explore the world out there...

Yup. I have been always wanting to go on an overseas trip. I really do not want to be someone who goes to other country and start being amazed and fascinated by the things over there as an middle-aged adult. I want to use my little bit of youth to play in other countries...

My friends always say, "Aiya, just work and save up over the holidays loh!" These kind of things are always said easier than done. How much can you save up over the holidays? How much will you need to survive in an semester period? I'm not a normal student that someone will help you pay your school fees and phone bills and internet bills...

Then, my friends will say again, "Go be tutor! Good money!" Yah right, like everyone can cut out to be a tutor. I'm not some people can just teach in any method and don't really care how my student performs in the end. I think one tutor's responsibility is quite heavy. You must really have a way to have the student understand you, and not letting the student to climb over you. As for these two major qualities, obviously, I have none. Plus, I don't really think I have the commitment to teach one student for such a long period of time.   ..

Money will always be the problem when we start to come out working. You don't see it now, but you will eventually. And this fact will not change. Especially, living in Singapore. Money is indeed the root of evil, not all. So people, please spend them wisely, and not let your future generation suffer in the future as Singapore standard of living will just keep on rising.
