Pasir Ris Secondary School 2011

It was another try on visiting the school ground on 11 Feb 2011. It has been years since I decided to try going into the school again. I called everyone who was going to meet outside the school gate at 11am. When everyone was there, we all stepped in, and I think it was the same unfriendly security guard again, and he wanted to chase us out again. He would only let us enter if Russell is not wearing slippers and only after the school officially ended for the day. That means no matter what, we could only enter after 12.30pm.

We were all "Du Lan" again. Song Guan said that he could go in anytime he wants previously, provided it is not THAT Security Guard. Well, Pok Yen and I were unlucky to meet him again... But we still waited patiently for that 1 hour 30 mins... Finally, when it was time, we approached the gate again. Luckily, the EVIL security guard was gone (Because it was Friday Afternoon and he MUST go somewhere to do something). It was a kind lady guard who let us in even with Russell wearing the slippers.

Finally, so many years since I graduated. That was my first time stepping back to the school. Everything was changed. I could not feel any nostalgia. That's it. No memories of any past secondary school anymore. Same goes to my primary school. Everything just changed for any school that I have graduated from... like almost immediately. Because the upgrading project always happens the following year of my graduating year. The only school that has the minimal change is Tampines Junior College.

We went straight to the Haven as I thought I saw Mr Albert Neo walking to that direction, but I lost him. Instead, I found Mrs Chua teaching a class just beside the Haven. We all miss that voice.. Haha. But Mrs Chua was disappointed with us for not making appointment with her before hand as she needded to conduct SPA Assessment later on, so we had to explore the school ourselves.

We went to canteen to have a cheap and satisfied meal. Good to find almost all the stalls are still doing good. Except the "Auntie Vegetarian Stall" was gone, her business was not doing any good even since the time I have entered. But I like her food the most, even though there was a lot of complains of hygiene conditions of that stall. Now, it was gone. Hope that auntie is doing fine.

We all walked around the school. I was the only one among them who has NEVER stepped back to the new campus, so I insisted in walking every corner of the school. Sadly to see, there is nothing much we found nostalgic. We could only find some of our teachers, but luckily that Displicine Master was nowhere to be seen. Phew. Just thinking of that face will make me feel like puking.

After visiting the school now, I have less arge to go back anymore. Cos is just not the school I have known anymore... (And the evil security guard is damn right irritating, spoils mood everytime seeing him..)

The Drunken Mushroom Pot

This is one of the gathering which drained my saving!

Yvonne planned a welcome dinner for Song Guan and Sabrina. She initiated the dinner to be a mushroom pot, a dinner which costs quite a bomb for my current situation as one person has to pay around $32. Well, I have not try it before... so...

I was late... again, so as Fang Qi and Sabrina. After directed them to wrong places, in the end I told them to wait for me outside Stadium MRT station, and we would walk from there. When we exited the station, we were exclaimed to see the Outdoor Stadium was finally demolished. But anyway, we walked and walked and walked and finally reached the place. The rest (Yvonne, Song Guan, Luvena, Yi Sheng and Eugene) was already seated inside.

The dinner table was split into 2 groups. Quiet and Noisy. My table consisted of the 3 latecomers and Yi Sheng. Quite obvious our table belonged to which category right? Anyway, our conversation of our table was mostly an interview with Sabrina. It was quite a tough days for her in Beijing. The rest of the time in our table was just lame jokes. Yup, I'm talking about the 3 latecomers who were the famous lamers in my secondary school gang.

The food was quite nice. We get to choose appetizers which are mainly made of mushrooms. The steamboat was not too much of mushrooms though, cos most people will go for meat which is perceived to be making the meal more worth the money. I decided not to stuff my stomach so much, but I still ended up eating the most in my group. The other table was of course Song Guan, and unexpectedly, Eugene.

We spent a long time in that pot restaurant. When we finally done with it, they went to Brewerks! That I didn't see it coming. I was really looking out for my money, therefore I made a very thick-skinned request to my friends when I realised they need to drink a lot if I didn't chip in. That is to drink without me paying. Without much hesitation, they all agreed! I was truly touched at that moment, so I dared not to drink so fast. It was a pity when Sabrina had to leave early to catch the last bus, because we had lots of funny moments after she left. The focus was on Eugene as he was making all sorts of weird actions to the beer tower. Our conclusion was him being drunk. He was also the one who drank the most. It was damn funny. I will just leave the details out here.

And so, the gang decided to call Eugene out whenever they decided to go drink again.
