Yesterday evening, I met up with Luvena, Derek and Fang Qi to visit the Toy and Comics Exhibition. It is said that such exhibition is the first in Singapore and in the Southeast Asia! So we decided to take a look since the majority of us are anime and manga fans. Sadly, it did not really surprised us as the most of the booths displayed toys that you can see in the department stores or in the China Square. The booths that really caught my attention are those artists sketching manga arts in front of the visitors. But still, the exhibition did attracted many toy and comic lovers, maybe it is still somewhat successful in some sense.
The gang wanted to catch a movie after the exhibition and then we went to the Marina GV since I have the Safra Card. However, the first row seats are left in the only available timeslot. Then, we backtracked to the Suntec Eng Wah and the time available was the midnight slot, so we given up watching it and went to the arcade (as usual) next door. Derek and me are attracted to this new game from Japan called Otomedius. It has nice graphic and most importantly, the characters are those anime-typed! However, both of us could not managed to pass the second stage even after 4 tries... Still, it was fun. We also played the usual Bishi Bashi (as usual), and the Mandarin Drum game. Luvena and Fang Qi became so high when they played that game. The most high part was the last track Luvena played - 无敌铁金刚... The song is really tacky, and it is because of playing that song, we became crazy... Laughing non-stop.
We catched the 11pm train back to Tampines and Derek wanted to grab a bite at McDonalds, and we sat down and unknowningly went into an endless chat about our Secondary, JC and Poly school life. That was the time I knew so many unknown secrets about my Sec 1 class. When we finally have stopped, it was already 2am and Luvena still need to report to work at 7am... We quickly called it off a day for her to catch some rest.

3 Days...
From Monday onwards, I took 3 days leave and all I did is to slack at home...
I am quite tired of my life right now. All I do is to wake up 4.30am everyday, report for work at Tuas, then do things that are really meaningless, and face those things that no one will want to do. All those things will just thrown to us, Guofeng, Ken, Ming Jie, Chung Kit or me. The NSFs club members. Ironically, the people there treat us very nice, really nice. Nice, but we still have to do all the things... And after each tiring day, I will just vent my anger on my family... and just hope I can relax and all I have to do is to just stare in front of the computer the whole night, no mood to do other things.
I will be leaving the service in 6 months time, and my Computing course starts in more than a year time. My officers, my seniors and even my mum courage me to sign for another 6 months... But I am not enjoying the life I am in right now, and I know I am not behaving like I used to be. Whether is it when I'm at home, or when I'm working. I know that I'm not myself. I treat my family and my friends when working (Especially Ming Jie) differently. I am really lucky to have the NSFs club working with me. When I'm have no mood to do anything, they will be there to help me. Really need to thank them.
I prefer my old school life. I need that 6 months of 2009 to turn me back to what I am.
I was too lazy to call friends out during these 3 days. I was afraid to face the disappointment when they said they could not make it and thus spoiling my mood. I have been getting quite a few disappointments after getting the CSC class together during the past few months. However, today I faced it again. I thought of watching Zohan, and Kai Yan agreed to watch with me when I asked him on Sunday, so probably today could watch it. But still, he could not make it.
These 3 days I can say that is the time I use to escape from that life. Temporarily. Hope tomorrow can look at that life at a different perspective, and not to always count down to the days I have left in the service. Otherwise, to endure another 6 months.
Counting Down: 5 Months and 19 Days

Finished Triptych
I have finally reading one of the 3 fictions I have received on my birthday! The book entitled "Triptych" is one detective novel filled with thrill and the plot twists unexpectedly and never failed to surprise me at the end of every chapter. In short, it was a great book and I recommend to those who enjoy reading detective stories.
Next, I'm gonna read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

The Sentosa Cohesion
CSC Gathering @ Marina Square
Yesterday was a cohesion day at Sentosa. I reached the Hawker Centre 30 minutes before the meeting time and found everyone was already sitting there having their breakfast. After I had mine, I sat Wei Qiang's car to the destination, Palawan Beach. It was stated that everyone should meet at 9.30am, but there are some officers like VIP coming late, and no one dared to speak up when earlier "somebody" said before people who come late will have to face "dire" consequences. Looks like that "somebody" do not dare to complain in front of officers...
The organiser planned Frisbee Match for us and it was something good rather than playing soccer... But still, they included that game and volleyball for more choices of games. The main event was focused on the Frisbee Match, but the loser team doesn't get any "punishment" which lacks the drive for people to win and thus making the game less fun.
After our team lost, my officer came with his wife and his cute little dog! But she doesn't mingle much with strangers. I did many less interesting things like taking a stick and started "vandalising the sand" and threw Guofeng into the sea! The whole event ended before time reached noon, I went off with people from the other department and we took the tram to the monorail station and then to VivoCity. Although it was my first riding on the new monorail, the scenary was not pleasant at all due to the massive construction that is going on. We met Guofeng and had lunch at Carl's Jr before watching The Incredible Hulk.
After the incredible movie, we went off and I met up with Potato first at City Hall, thinking of which cake to buy for the Birthday Boy, Meng Yong. Yes, that is the objective of meeting up, celebrate our dear Meng Yong birthday! However, being the usual planner for CSC gathering, it is getting harder to call up people to meet up. (Calling CSC buddies!! Pls reply me next time even if you are not confirm whether you are free or not, and at least give me a date when you are confirmed.) Anyway, both of us met up with Darrell who is trying to buy a pair of leather shoes. Then, we decided to buy his shoes first as we worried that the cake will melt before the guys came down from Serangoon. (Oh my, Still at Serangoon!!!) But the guys came down faster than expected, and Meng Yong didn't want to have a cake, and so we went to have our dinner at Jack's Place in the Marina Square.
The service was horrible. Extremely horrible. A big fat senior-looking waiter actually did not know his job well, he recommended special offer that is only available on lunch time!!! Moreover, he even took the wrong order!!! He really made our moods turned really bad. That can be forgotten once we caught ourselves into an endless chat. We really hope the rest of 6 months can pass really fast. (But that also means that we will go our separate ways...) The dinner was "steak-licious", we went straight home after that. Hope Meng Yong enjoyed his birthday night...
I have been thinking whether to plan a chalet for us, or just have a gathering and go to Bedok 85 to have a sumptuous meal. Wow, Say Kang also wanted a chalet for our JRC Freedom class... And I also suggested a chalet for my Secondary cum JC gang... Oh my... Haha.

A Failed Plan... Became a small JRC Freedom Gathering?!
It was a friday when I thought everyone seems to be free on that night. But suddenly everyone was not available. It is because:
Darrell: Duty
Wee Khiang: Sailing
Kai Yan: Sailing
Alvin: Have already made appointment with others
Cheong Guan: Sis Birthday
Ming Jie: Family Problems
Potato: Trapped in camp
Jiun Yan: Trapped in camp
So, I called Say Kang along for dinner with Meng Yong and me. We met at Bugis... Again, and once again, the waitress is not there in NYDC, it appears that she only works on weekends, so we went to other places to eat. Say Kang recommended we head out of the shopping mall to look for other places to eat, and we walked towards the street famous for steamboat and settled down at a small Vietnamese restaurant, Madam Saigon.
The food is cheap and nice, the ambience of the place is also suitable for people settling down for a chat. The Beef Noodles that Say Kang ordered was awesome! The soup is full of flavour and Meng Yong and me don't see why he thinks that the soup tastes ordinary. The restaurant did not charge for GST! Only a service charge of 4 bucks. Isn't that's good?
Say Kang really have a lot to catch up with us, his ship life was really interesting, saying that his crew memebers are really great gossipers, even the officers! People with rumours wouldn't be able to live with peace! Oh my... Hope Wee Khiang is doing fine.
Bugis Street is our next shopping point after our meal. Over there, you can spot a small stall selling handmade bread which only costs $1.80! Say Kang felt that it tastes not bad, and Meng Yong bought one after Say Kang bought his. Me? I bought nothing.
Walking back to Bugis Junction, both of them started to hunt for more clothes. But in the end, Say Kang bought the most. It was 9.30pm and as Meng Yong is sailing tomorrow, we called it a day. Say Kang missed a lot pf people... Maybe I should help him to plan an outing for his batchboys? Or JRC Freedom?

Tampines and the People
It was a rather cooling afternoon as I rushed off quickly from my house to Tampines Mall yesterday. It was another outing with me being "the one who gathered everyone" again. With Wilson as one of the people being called, I told him to meet us at 1.45pm while the others to come later than 2pm. But I was too late to inform Jiunn Kai to come later as he had already stepped out of his house when I SMSed him, and so I rushed out of the house as fast as I could.
He was already queuing for the movie tickets when I got there, there were whole lot of people queuing. Luckily, Alvin Liow had already bought for us early morning and Jiunn Kai could avoid the hassle of standing in such a long queue. He was looking for something that could fill his stomach as he has not taken his lunch. Same for me. But my stomach was partially filled with my mum's homecooked Red Bean Soup, and so we settled down in the Basement 1 Katrina to have some fried Tofu while waiting others to come.
As usual, even I give him about 15 minutes for him to reach the mall, Wilson still came later than anyone of us. We still compromised though. Haha. Everyone was excited for the movie we going to watch, but Yi Sheng thought of watching Kung Fu Panda. Still, Sex and the City won the majority's hearts. We went in straight into the cinema after we got our popcorns. The movie was really long - 2 and half hours, and it was really nice. You can really see the lifestyles of New York City dwellers. And as usual, the character Samantha Jones has the most funny parts in the whole show.
We sat down in the McDonalds for some fries while waiting for Russell to come down after his duty. Jiunn Kai went off shortly after that. As soon as Russell appeared, we headed to Ding Tai Feng for our dinner which we have already decided and Alvin had to eat again since he had it for lunch just this afternoon...
When we are indulging ourselves with the restaurant famous dumplings, I suddenly heard noises two tables away from ours. I turned my head and saw one unsatisfied customer complaining, and scolded the waitress for the poor service. The poor waitress stood there helpless, no idea how to deal with such fierce customer. I watched for a while and realised that the customer was very unhappy to find small glass chips in his food, and demanded to see the manager or the chef. But the problem seemed to be solve as soon as the chef appeared and apologised. As the customer and his family have left, the waitresses who have served them let out sighs of relief. Since yesterday night was a Sunday night, everyone wants to go home early as they need their time and rest for the work tomorrow.

Coincidence x 4
Yesterday morning, I went home after the usual duty from the camp and slept for the whole afternoon. During evening, my mum woke me up and wanted to go Tampines Central to have our dinner with my Aunt and my 3 cousins and grandma. We went to the Food Junction in Century Square for our dinner. Then, we went loitering around the shopping mall aimlessly. When we walk passed the Swensens at Tampines Mall, I saw Pok Yen, apparantly alone. I was talking to Wilson on the phone when I saw him and he went off hurriedly after Wilson spoke to him on my phone.
Shortly after that, I saw Rong Teng on the second level! I was so excited to see him, and we both jumped the moment we saw each other. So sad, we have not been seeing each other for more than a year, and I wished to talk with him more, but I have to catch up with my family as they are heading further without me. He meeting Yuezhi to watch SATC, and so I started saying goodbye and we parted in separate ways. Hope we could meet up somedays.
At around 8.15pm, my aunt decided to go home as she lives at Choa Chu Kang. In another words, she will reach home at a time that is considerably late. On the other hand, my brother wished to watch the Chinese-Dubbed Hanazakari no Kimitachi e that is currently broadcasting on SCV Ch 56 every Saturday. Therefore, we went to Grandma's house instead by foot while she went back home by bus.
As we reached the void deck of my grandma's house, I saw one familiar person as I saw him from his back, and I shouted out his name, and he turned back, and I was right! Tze Keong was surprised to see me. Likewise for me. He actually walks home everytime after he sent Wei Tian home. If I'm him, I would do the same since waiting for bus is so irritating and could save up the transporting fee. Haha. We talked for around 2 minutes with my brother standing beside me... I thought of talking more, but as I don't want to make my brother standing there. So I stared at Tze Keong for a few seconds and started the "goodbye" like what I initiated when talking to Rong Teng... So sad... I also told Tze Keong that I saw Jonathan back at the Ubi Driving Centre 3 days ago when I was opening account. What a coincidence for 4 times! Really happy to see the tk gang people after for so long. Haha. Hope can go out with them somedays!
