A First Time Experience

It was my first time going to Batam, and first time hanging out with my colleagues. First stop when we reached the hotel, we went to the shopping mall that is located just beside the hotel. We had our lunch there, at A&W, and I was cheated. I ordered a 3 pcs chicken strips meal and upgraded my meal to get a Root Beer Float. The Root Beer Float was tasty, but when my chicken strips came... I was totally speechless. The strips are sized as if I was eating 3 pathetic french fries... The curly fries tasted not bad, just that the portion was too little. Guess you can't expect much from a $4 meal.

Next, Ker Hao pulled me to buy a long sleeve shirt for his chief for his dinner the next day. But in the end, that $10 shirt was not put into good use as the dinner was cancelled. Haha.

The large group of us was split into 3 groups after our lunch, My group consisted Ricky, Ker Hao, Guofeng, Chung Kit, Medic, Samuel, Elvin, Eric, Yang, Silie, Jega, Soon Teck. We went to have massage first. And so, my first time massage was given to an Indonesian Lady. We reached the Alanta Massage and Spa Center and had jacuzzi and sauna first before our massage.

It's been a long time since I had a hot bath jacuzzi, so I rinsed myself and stayed inside the sauna for quite a long time. Then, we waited for the massage ladies to serve us. But, we must proceed to each individual cubicles before the massage can start. I was afraid when I waited for the ladies to come. Haha. I thought the massage take place in a large room, where there lots of beds and all of us could just lie on any one of them and we could chat and getting massage at the same time.

Anyway, the 'clean' service started when the lady came into my cubicle, and she started to massage my legs, and she seemed to specialise on legs as she spent around 30 minutes on my legs. As for the back, head and the arms, she took a total of another 30 minutes. How I wish she could massage my shoulders for 30 minutes as I have been complaining about my neck and shoulder aches since JC times.

After spending the whole afternoon in the Massage and Spa Parlour, we went for our dinner. We ordered lots of food, Curry Fish Head, Chilli Crabs, Oatmeal Prawns, Hotplate Beancurd, KangKong, Bat Kut Teh, Vegetable Soup and Lala. For drinks, of course they would call for beer, and of course I could not reject drinking it. This meal costed us $60, and it was really cheap.

We headed back to the Shopping Mall for stock-piling, where we could stock up the Indo-mie at the Hypermart. We bought so much cartons of the noodles that we had to use the trolley to push back to the hotel... We are really typical Singaporeans... Imagine I pushed the trolley and entered the hotel through the main entrance to the lobby with everyone staring at us... We even pushed the trolleys to our rooms!!!

Well, putting that aside, I had another first time experience when Ricky pulled me to the Hotel Pub. A typical Pub where you can call girls to drink and sing and chat and play with you. At first, I thought I was safe from those girls as Ricky and Soon Teck told me I can just drink liquor and not do anything else. However, I was tricked by them... After sitting there watching people sing KTV for an hour, Soon Teck started to call China girls for us!!! He even took of my specs when the girl approached me...

Oh my... I really don't like such things and it was awkward when 2 strangers sit together and talk nothing. And I really don't feel like talking to her. So I will just let her ask me questions. Time after time, Soon Teck and Ricky will just came to us and forced me to touch the lady or told her to touch me... Sigh. Then, I played dice games with her like all the other pairs... So boring. It seemed that the ladies are only trained with dice abilities... Luckily, the session only lasted for an hour... Phew.

And so the night ended. It was 12 midnight when we went back to our ship. When we are about to sleep during 1.00am, Soon Teck pulled us to the Deck and started drinking again. This time, along with officers and others to have a sharing session about our feelings in our working environment. Those could not speak up will have to bottoms up. At that time, I was so tired and cannot really concentrated. But when Soon Teck started to talk, his thoughts really could inspire many people. Soon, I thought the game have gradually became a lesson for the NSFs, advices that we could take back after we ORDed.

Another hour has passed, and we are finally allowed to rest. Due to the fact that many people are sailing, and there are not much spaces in our accommodation, we have to sleep outside it. We have to share blankets and mattresses due to the small spaces outside the accommodation. I don't really much have a choice and I was dead tired back then, and so I went into deep sleep shortly after we lied on the mattress. The next morning, when I was tidying up the place, I realised I had one extra blanklet on me... But I didn't think too much until I heard it was Soon Teck who placed the blanklet on us. I was really touched. But still, I didn't say thanks to him. I just feel hard doing so. But why?
