One month since the exams has already gone!!!
For those who are wondering what have I been up to, It's time to make things clear! Well, it is nothing much exactly. But it was definitely not slacking at home like last year! Right after my CS3241 Computer Graphics Exam, my friend from NM2208, Dorcas texted me to offer a job for me. It was a job from an advertising company. Immediately, I agreed without thinking twice. Judging from my poor resume, I think my chances of getting myself one internship out of 5-6 applications seemed impossible.
After our last exams, Shaun, Russell, Yong Wee and I went to Dhoby Ghaut for LAN. People should see how these 4 noobs played. We are definitely going to get many criticisms from those pros. Luckily, there were no one else in the LAN shop that the time when we were playing.
The person-in-charge of the job assignment called me shortly after our game, and I was called to start work on Monday, which was exactly 2 days away. I could not believe I could get a job so fast!
I went in on Monday as spoken. The lady in charge is a pretty lady named Kheng. Her office was located in Boat Quay, a small but cozy office. She briefed me about the programme that I will be involved. The project or event that she was involved was Singapore Arts Festival 2011! They were hired by IDA to help them run the event. The main event aim is to promote the use of Mobile Application through a simulation tutorial via iPad 2.
I was like... Singapore Arts Festival...? iPad...? Mobile Apps...? They do not really fit the picture... The slogan that IDA has came up was "Enjoying Digital Arts Lifestyle with You & Me"... It sounded a bit forceful, but well, since it was initiated by a government board, so nothing much can be commented.
Dorcas and I will be helping out in the event throughout and to supervise a group of NYP Polytechnic students while the students will man the IDA booths. The booths are located in a park outside Esplanade, and so called "Esplanade Park" and the whole set up was called "Festival Village"... The place looked ok at first, but as I get to learn more about the set up. I could already tell there are going to be some problems...
