Part Two: Russell's Birthday
Another week passed after Huiy's birthday, and it was time to get Russell's birthday present!
I initiated to ask everyone to gather to buy the present. And so, Alvin, Joel and Yi Sheng could come out to buy the present. Alvin and I met each other first, and he drove us to Marina Square to search for the presents.
Frankly speaking, buying presents is always a difficult task since you have to make sure the one you brought is not the same as the one bought by his other friends. Alvin had an idea in mind, whic his getting Russell a bag. Then, after looking through some shops in the mall, we had some enlisted selections and we waited for Yi Sheng to come and give his opinion before we arrived at our decision.
Next, we were still clueless on what to get for him as the second present. We went through the whole mall, but to no avail. We thought of getting him a mouse, the book "The Lost Symbol" by Dan Brown or some other computer games. Yi Sheng then suggested getting him the new Nets FlashCard. Bingo! That was the thing that was slipped out of my mind. He wanted that card! So we called Joel, who was at Simei waiting for us, to get it as we made our way to fetch him.
Finally, we settled the presents and went ahead to the party. The party was held the same place as Sasha's birthday. We went in and sat down, ate the dinner, waited for the others (except for Wilson), and chatted. Everything was like what a person usually does in a birthday party. After the cake cutting and photo taking session, Alvin had to take his leave to rush off for another party.
After the whole party was wrapped up, Russell finally had the time to chat with us. Haha. We totally understand how busy the host is in such an occasion since he needs to entertain everyone. Then, we had some heart-to-heart talk before Wilson made his "Special Appearance". We decided to cam whore after some chat. Haha, what was quite fun actually...
Russell put up the photos in Facebook the next day, and I gave a hugh exclamation followed by a great relief. Because his family and friends did buy him a mouse and "The Lost Symbol"! Luckily, we did not buy that for him! Oh, and Alvin and I thought Russell would like to have his bag to have fewer compartments, but it turns out, he does like to have more compartments in his bag! Haha, and luckily, the bag we chose fulfil his criteria.
My OG group and I bought another present for him, which is a shirt. Hope it will come in handy for his future formal presentations.
