Tampines 1

The new shopping mall in Tampines is finally opened today! I thought there will be less people early morning because I believed most of the people are working. But Potato is right, and I was wrong! There are quite a lot of aunties there... and some students who seemed to be skipping school.

It is like a mini Bugis Junction. There are fashion shops like Natural Project, Topshop, BossiniStyle, another Esprit, Messy, Man Master and the famous Uni Qlo. Oh, and Hang Ten... Jewellery shops are also of higher standard like Lee Hwa Galleria. The restaurants are even better. There are Manpuku (similiar to Shokudo concept), Sushi Tei, Diao Xiao Er, Thai Express Bistro, Teadot, BBQ Chicken, Subway, Carl's Jr, J.Co Donuts, Coffee Club, etc. Even the neighbourhood game store I always patronise is shifted to the mall, Playboxx! Challenger is also back at Tampines 1!

Uni Qlo is amazing. It is the only store which attracted the most people. Long queues are everywhere! Even till the shop outside! So many people are getting T-shirts, and aunties are seen snatching for the cheapest deals. Chaos!

The mall also allows you to view the scenery. There are some sort like Rooftop Plaza at Level 4 and 5. But beware for the scorching hot sun!

Level 5 is a bit of disappointment. The arcade there is also run by Timezone. However, it is pathetically small, smaller than the one in Tampines Mall...

In a typical sub-urban mall, there will be one major departmental store (Isetan in TM and BHG in CS) and one major supermarket (Fairprice in TM and Shop N Save in CS). Although, there is no major departmental store in Tampines 1, there is one supermarket, Cold Storage. There is also a mini Japanese Supermarket which sell only Japanese Confectioneries and Drinks. Loves it. But it is not cheap either...

Ok, that is what I can remember! Oh my, I can predict the intensity if the crowd in Tampines during weekends... Chaos!
