Yesterday night was a terrible event. It was a night where all of the Navy people of our vocation were gathered together and have fun, of course there are also many who are on their duties, so not all came. As for my batchboys, only Darrell, Wee Khiang, Ming Jie, Willy Yeo and Pei Yi went for that event. Other people I knew who went for the event are: Larry, Laifa, Yang, Mark, Garry, Gan, Steven, Iris, Ivan, Jin Long, June, Song, Marcus and Keith Ong. Of course some of those above mentioned are Department Chiefs. My previous and the present Senior Instructors in the Training Centre were also present, Mdm Chee Soy Fong and Mdm Ng Bee Bee. I'm still glad that Mdm Chee actually still remembered who we are, and we took photos with her.
When we found out that Wee Khiang is sitting with us, we are very happy since he can get himself away from Iris. I'm sure if it is Shaun she will request someone from her table to swap places with him. Anyway, when we were all waiting for the Guest of Honour, Chief of Navy, the hosts played some games with the audience and really brought up the high atmosphere. But seriously, those old auntie waitresses really spoil the atmosphere. Haha.
The feast finally started when GOH arrived and the speeches were over. The kind of dishes presented was no different from the ordinary Chinese Wedding Dinner, except that the quality of the food is lower. Sharing the same table with me were Yang, Larry, Mark, Laifa, Ming Jie, Wee Khiang, Garry, Gan and Steven... Fortunately, we knew each other, so the dinner was not too bad. Unfortunately, for Marcus who is the only representative from his ship had to sit with Keith Ong who is also the only representative from his ship, and therefore Keith kept chatting with Marcus, and I could see the victim was quite helpless... Poor Chief.
Then, as the dinner started, my Chief Mark have already ordered several glasses of beer and wine. And there was once he wanted me to toast Iris! The lady I ever hated as she always bully my Khiang Khiang! And I also needed to "betray" my buddy, saying that it is him who wanted me to toast her. I managed to pull that off once, but my chief wanted me to do another time... Sorry buddy!
In the middle of the dinner, there was a programme on stage and had received many cheers! It was actually a man acting like a bar top dancer! Initially, we were all disgusted, but when he said he did for entertainment purpose, everyone was relieved and cheered for him.
As usual, dinner like this will make my vision spins. But this time was more vigourous, maybe because I drank more wine this time. Sigh. That should be the worst spinning vision I had. I had the feeling I was about to get drunk, but I still have my consciousness, I still remembered what I have done... Does that imply I still can take more glasses? Hmm... Better don't. I really don't want to get drunk.
As the dinner was about to end, I can see Mark and Iris can chatting happily. I almost pictured a couple of lovebirds. Eww! I can't believe I actually imagined that! It is like a doomsday to me if they are getting very close... Luckily, we are about to ORD...
Counting Down: 1 Month and 27 Days (I believe...)
