The weather is very unpredictable these days, now you see is raining, but the next moment you could the sky is cleared and the sun is shining brightly. Anyway, this is not the main subject for this entry. This is what I encountered when I was doing my duty yesterday. After my duty, I was "escorted" out of the base and went to have breakfast, or rather see Yang and Larry having theirs since I had mine in the base before we came out. We are supposed to have lunch at Chinatown together, but I'm afraid that I will be late as going back home then coming out again will take quite some time. Therefore, I tagged along with my seniors and I can have free ride too!
I was taken to Yang's mother-in-law's house. It is because his mother-in-law was currently at his house and so it is not very convenient for me to go his house, and we went to her house instead?! Although both of them live in condominiums, his mother-in-law actually live in the penthouse! It is my first I see a doubled-storey condo apartment and it is really spacious. I was allowed to shower in her house and I was really amazed by the kind of facial products they used. Of course, I tried some of their facial foam from The Body Shop. Simply Terrific. After the comfortable shower, we both watched the Discovery Channel for a while before we headed out.
We went to Yum Cha Fortune Restaurant at the Chinatown, along with Wai Keong, Andy, Yoyo and Eddie. I don't really have much to describe about the lunch because Ming Jie and me were totally speechless throughout the whole session. After the meal, Yang intended to go "that" kind of place. He has tried to persuade me earlier when I went to his mother-in-law's house, but I was really determined to decline that "offer". I thought Wai Keong don't really like that of kind of place, so I thought I had one more supporter. I said they could just go without me. However, their motto is "We must go as one group together", everyone will have to respect the minority's decision. Then, they have no choice to go to the $10 KTV, but it is fully booked again. Eddie and Andy were utterly disappointed by the choice, and so they left us. Wai Keong suggested to go for a massage, which I thought was not a bad idea, at least better than those place. However, that suggestion is too expensive. In the end, we headed to the K Box, and was stopped by the staff from K-ster who offered a price of $10 as well. The condition is that you have to be a life-time member (A fee of $5), and each of us is entitled with only one drink. Unlike the $10 KTV who offers free-flow of drinks.
Wai Keong stayed for a while and left, while Larry, as usual, called for beer and wanted us to drink. Sigh. I drank 4 small bottles in total, and I ran to the washroom very frequently. Even though my head was spinning, my mind remained clear. Yang tried to ask me whether we could go that place again, and of course my reply was "NO"! Again, he was disappointed. Lastly, we went to have our dinner at a place opposite Pearl's Centre, but the beer freaks (Yoyo, Larry and Me) did not have any appetite since we drank quite a lot. What a day.
I was rather happy that I did not surrender to Yang's persuations. I could not imagine what if I have really gone to that place. My mum was horrified when I spoke to her when I got home, she reprimanded me not to mix with them anymore. I didn't told her that they are actually nice people, since they respected my decision, they will still treat us as their friends even when we ORDed. Today is a definite bonding for our department, and a close call of going to that kind of place.
