The Karaoke Week - Part Two

This week I had two sessions of karaoke with two different groups of uni friends.

The second one was the outing that I felt frustrated organising it. Like I said, if I had a difficult time planning for an outing, I still be emo on the day itself. Moreover, one really became sick this morning and one went MIA. So a group of 7 people became only 5 people. That's not all, 2 more will be terribly late. In the end, only Alex, Wen Man and I had to stay in a boring room for the first half of the session.

We were having our karaoke in Teo Heng NTU Alumni, which was located up on a hill. After the short hike, we were still lost, dunno where to find the place, not even the reception. With my exploring expertise, we were still able to find the place within 10 minutes.

At first, I had no mood to pick up a mic, because I was stuck with two people who don't really sing much. No, one of them had never stepped into a karaoke room before. But luckily the forever joyful Wen Man encouraged me to pick up and sing. Felt better after singing a few songs, even though I sang terribly. I then encouraged the other two to sing. So coincidentally, the two Bukit Timah dwellers know many English oldies songs, so they picked a few and sang happily. For a first timer, I think Alex sings well. But both of them would purposely sang exaggeratedly to create an entertaining effect. Thanks to them, I finally got to know more nice English oldies.

Melissa and Michelle came later, separately. That was the time when the atmosphere suddenly became higher. Alex and I just have to watch the girls having their girly mad time. We also asked Alex to put in more few songs, so that the oldies duo can entertain Melissa and Michelle. For me, I was watching the music videos, hoping to remember the melody of the songs. But I was really turned down by most of the "fake" music videos with all the scenery and the "male gaze" effects.

All the planning had gone down to waste. Because in the end, our singing ended late and we had dinner down at the coffee shop opposite Bouna Vista MRT. On the way home, I told them our fate will finally be sealed here. But Michelle suggested another outing, I quickly backed out , fearing the organising part again. I don't mind another outing, but some part of me tells me that this will not happen. That's just life. People like to say but no action is done until someone takes action. That someone will never appear.

Anyway, the fate is not going to be sealed after our outing. Because I've forgot to bring the compiled CD of the rehearsal photos and videos! So I need to make another extra effort to call and distribute the CD once the other semester starts...

The another funny thing is I have brought a camera, but no group photo was taken! Only this. =D
