Healthy and Natural

This event took place on Day 3 of Chinese New Year 2010.

Jiunn Kai and I met up at Eastpoint to get ingredients for the steamboat at night. While picking for the food, Russell, Joel, Song Guan, Si Hui and Sasha came in sequence at different timings. We were worried about the quantity as we didn't really know how to estimate, but Jiunn Kai gave his assurance that he would finish them. And so, to Russell's horror, we took 2 packets of watercress, 2 packets of xiao bai cai and a packet of cai xin. Look's like the soup that night would be a vegetable soup!

We also bought 3 packets worth of Golden Mushrooms, Pork Shabu Shabu, some chicken lean meat, 3 packets of Fishballs, 2 packets of meatballs, a packet of fish dumplings, Heinz Chicken Broth, a can of Top Shell, 2 packs of Cheese Tofu, a pack of tofu and one small bag of prawns. That should be it, hope I didn't miss any details.

After leaving Fairprice, we thought of getting Yu Sheng, so we went up to Sakae Sushi to get one. The lady was kind enough to give us extra fish!!! We then chatted happily all the way back to Russell's house.

Time to prepare!!! The next moment after we stepped into his kitchen, it became extremely messy and noisy. (I can't remember that well, but this should be the details in the kitchen...) Si Hui amd I handled the vegetables, Russell handled mushrooms, Song Guan handled the prawns and fishballs and meatballs, Jiunn Kai and Joel handled the meats. Then, Russell, Jiunn Kai and Joel went out to the Dining Table to prepare the steamboat and the broth. When I stepped out of the kitchen, everything was well-laid.

Time to Dig in!!! We sat around the table and Jiunn Kai started to spam lots of vegetables in, and instantly, it seemed like we are really boiling a steamboat of watercress soup. And it really does! The flavour was there, which made Russell and Joel lose the appetite of drinking the soup... Sasha's mum also took the effort to prepare Fried Rice for us!

Jiunn Kai really ate the most, but he failed to follow up to his assurance because we could not finish everything. We even tried to give a lot of food to one's bowl when that person left the table for a short while. In the end, when we heard that Jun Jie would be joining us, and left one big bowl for him! The soup did not appear that nice in the end, but it contained all the good essence of the vegetables and meat! The vegetables would take most of the percentage since Jiunn Kai really emptied the whole pot of vegetables in, which makes the soup even more healthy! I really like the soup, but it would be better if I have the time to boil the soup base myself instead of buying those packed.

Russell brought out his gambling case out, and a lot of people was surprised to see the game "Big Small" actually comes in a game box (Like those in Monopoly which has a gameboard)! But not many people felt like gambling. So after a few rounds of Big Small and Black Jack, we turned even more exciting games. Yup, more heart-pounding games than gambling. But before that, we had our Yu Sheng Session, and I did not really "lao" anything because everything was so messy. But Yu Sheng really tasted delicious. Instead of digging for raw fish, almost everyone just grab the crackers! Haha, then I took most of the fish for myself! Oh, Yu Sheng was also Healthy and Natural!

Heart Attack! Everyone became so high suddenly! But I did not win any of the round before we went on to Name-Calling, a game which really tests your reaction. Everyone was so into the game when Jiunn Kai wanted to stop the game early so that he could go back to Hall as he got school the next day. And so, everyone went back as well.
