Enjoyable But Disappointing

I met up with Song Guan and Yi Sheng at 4pm at Tampines before heading to Bugis. We met up early to have a walk in the area before meeting up with Yvonne and Luvena at 6.30pm. We first shopped in Bugis Junction, and then Illuma. It was my first time to the mall. My comments? My first impression is spacious but not much things to be shopped, mainly also due to the ongoing construction, and there are many shops that are yet to be opened.

People who are sick of old arcade games can visit the Illuma Arcadia. It is the place where you can find the latest Japanese Arcade Games such as the New Gulity Gear, DragonBall Z, Sengoku Barasa and many more. There are also many UFO Catchers machines, you can interpret as the Craze is back again after for so many years. The prizes in the machines seemed a bit absurd. Other than Cute Plushies, you can also see prizes like Pringles, Pocky, Tamiya, Gucci Watches, Ben & Jerry Ice Creams, etc. Haha.

We went back to meet the Girls and then went to a corner where the shops are previously from the Concourse. Yes, the agenda for that day was to get Party Decos for Song Guan's Birthday. However, the Birthday Boy has no clue or a bit or a slight idea as to what or how to deco the chalet. He just let the girls decide. The girls brainstormed for ideas as they browsed through the stores. At first, I was puzzled, why can't we plan before we buy the stuff? But I just went on. We bought some items and then proceeded to Bras Basah Popular Branch. It was also my first time to shop in that Popular Branch. It was incredibly huge, the only branch that covers 3 Levels! And everything is well organised. Definitely the first stop to come if you look for items that can't be found in other Popular Branches. Finally, at 8.30pm, we had our dinner at Chinese Cha Can Ting at Illuma.

I insisted on going to Orchard after that since Kai Yan will be having his first time performance playing on the street, and I really wanted to hear how the small band played the Jay Chou's songs. I decided to go there by myself initially, but in the end, the others followed too. We left at 9.30pm, I was hoping that I could make it to the MRT in 5 minutes, and a MRT ride to Somerset is also 5 minutes, and a walk to Heeren should be less than 3 minutes, and so I could make it within 15 minutes and catch the last part performance which was told to be at 9.45pm. However, time is wasted when Song Guan claimed that there is bus service to Orchard and it is much faster. In the end, after walking to 2 bus stops, none of the bus services head to Orchard... At the point of time, I was totally speechless, don't feel like saying much, because I would really say something that will hurt people so much... So I just walked briskly, so fast that the girls can't really catch up...

We finally reached at 10.10pm, and the band music could be heard from the road junction... However, when I joined the crowd, the performance ended... with Kai Yan packing up his cello... I was too late, I can't really describe how I feel at that moment... I can't even apologise to my friend in my face...

For the rest of the nights, I refrained from showing my disappointment... Song Guan always wanted to go to Balcony for a drink. But it was another disappointment... The service was totally bad, and the drinks are sold at super high price. And worse since it is outdoor drinking, the weather at that time is sooo... humid and hot, and so we are so sticky and uncomfortable when drinking. Terrible experience... That also further brought my mood down...
