The previous year seemed like one long year for me.
Probably due to the lost track in time during the university semesters.
It was a mixed feeling for the long 3 months during May to July.
It made us feel that the next semester (in August) will be a brand new year.
Well, the answer is Yes and No.
Yes, it is another new annual year for university.
No, it is still 2010.
So, everything happened during January to May seemed like "Last Year".
I can't really think of any exciting things happened in 2010, like the most boring year ever.
Yup, university is the only reason to this.
I enjoyed the time in uni so far.
But I also lost a lot of time with many people out there...

The One where the Hole gets Bigger
Don't get me wrong. I'm talking about the hole of my wallet.
Shortly after the 2 gift exchange sessions with uni friends, there were 2 more gatherings with old friends.
First up was the JK gang. However, the attendance was not very good as the meeting was fixed at Christmas Eve. The usual occasion for family to be together instead of friends. So only 5 managed to come, but 2 of them, Joel and Russell would leave at night. I met the other 4 when I'm done with my lunch at home. Yi Sheng and Russell were still having their lunch at McDonalds when I reached at 2.30pm. Jiunn Kai and Joel ordered some fries and nuggets to share, while I watched them eat.
While we were chatting, Stupid Joel and Yi Sheng paired up again and began to shoot S.H.E again... We walked everywhere around the 3 malls before our movie, Little Fockers, starts. Russell left before the movie; Joel left after the movie.
The 3 leftovers could not decide what to eat. In the end, they ended up in Diao Xiao Er, and I finally have a chance to taste it... At the expense of making the wallet hole bigger of course. But, the money was worth it since the meal was great.
The 3 of us had nowhere else to go, so Jiunn Kai suggested going to SunPlaza Park for a swing ride. But we were shocked to see that the swings were replaced by 2 basket-like swings. The swinging power was not too great because of the bulkiness, but was comfortable to lie on it while it swings.
There was another strange looking thing stood at the location where there used to be another swing-like thing that you can sit on it and swing yourself to the other side. It looked like a blue balancer. Jiunn Kai and I went up and tried. Yup, it worked like an ordinary see-saw, the only difference is you are in standing position. However, we do not see anything safe with that thing. But we had the greatest fun playing that... in another way...
We also had a couple of spin on some big circular plate before sitting down somewhere in the playground, on top of the slide. We had some boring games before playing 5, 10 and 15 without alcoholic drinks. The punishment is to do whatever the winner told us to do, something physically exhausting things such as climbing up and down and slide. Jiuun Kai emerged the overall winner, while Yi Sheng and I did not seem to win any of the rounds at all. But I did get punishment for saying numbers more than 30 (Since there were only 3 pairs of hands), while Jiunn Kai got punished for skipping my turn.
Well, that's all for that night. That day spent $31.50.
The next next day, Jiunn Kai, Russell and I came out again to meet Sasha and Si Hui...at Paragon. Ok, I foreseen something bad at that point of time when I heard of that location. Yup, and I was right. Jiunn Kai brought us Sushi Tei... And yes, I have never been there before, and I don't really have a choice...
As we were queuing, I someone caught my eyes. The first time I saw Shaun Chen from MediaCorp in person, but he was not with his wife, Michelle Chia, which I really wish to meet in person. Such a pity.
Anyway, I got in and Jiunn Kai started grabbing some plates to eat. The price of the Sushi there was really astonishing... There are so many different categories and the prices are really high. But the prices of the others such as Bentos and Ramens are just like any other Japanese Restaurants out there.
Jiuun Kai was talking about Natto Sushi which he thought tasted the worst thing he has ever eaten in his life. I never tried it before, but I really want to try no matter how bad he said it. It turned out not as bad as he described, but it did not taste good either. It is just like eating bitter coffee beans.
We then had some strolling around ION Orchard. Then we decided to rest at Starbucks which was bustling with people. And that was when I saw another ex-actor, not a famous one. But he acted as the Male Leading Actor in the extinct Channel I's sitcom, Ah Girl.
Ok, we found ourselves a seat, and I could only sit for a while before leaving to my Grandma's house. That was when I realised almost everyone had bought things to share. Si Hui did her usual small candy wrappings: Putting many sorts of candy in to a cute wrapping plastic paper. Russell bought each of us a cute stress ball figurines. Jiuun Kai bought a rather expensive Japanese Cheese Scallops to share while shopping earlier. And Sasha bought me a box of Royce Chocolate as a token of lending her my phone. For me, I used that box of chocolate to share... Haha.
That's another afternoon with $26 gone...

Gift X-chAngE: Day 2
Yesterday was the second Gift Exchange gathering for me and Huishan. The gathering for the VeNoM. And our OG is said to be the only surviving OG left within our cohort. It means that the other OG groups have ungrouped and went on to their separate ways, our group is the only group which still find time and gather together! Achievement! Haha.
Well, the attendence was expected to be quite poor. But luckily, many made the effort to meet up! I was quite happy even though I'm not the one organising, perhaps I'm happy for the organiser. However, latecomers were definitely expected since there are people who never make it punctual for all the gathering and people who have habit of waking up only in the afternoon...
I met up with Russell first, then Ying Cong, Sohaila and Siti and then Huishan. We all went up Mind Cafe (The usual meeting spot for VeNoM), and played first. We all started with Monopoly Deal, then Yi Jia came shortly after 2 rounds. That was time my luck was drained as compared to the day before because I got completely lousy cards! Randy came and we played some cute game like "Don't let the Monkeys fall off the Tree". We then played a few rounds of Incan Gold before the last person, Edwin came. The last game we played there was Saboteur. The one classic game which I enjoy playing the most.
We then took some time to decide on our dinner spot. Then, the final decision was Pizza Hut. Yeah, Pizza again! (I ate Pizza for dinner the night before too!) The 9 of us set off to Plaza Singapura. At the dinner table, there was a sudden discussion about K-pop music, and most of the people are all engaged in it, except for Ying Cong, Edwin and I as I'm not really a fan of such music sensation. The discussion also continued at Randy's house where our Gift Exchange Session took place.
Randy brought around the condo before going to his house. We all exclaimed "WAH!" here and there intentionally when in fact there is nothing much to exclaim about since most of the condos are the same in Singapore. And one very huge similarity is: The apartment is small. And yet I thought the condo in city area will be slightly bigger. So it turned out to be opposite. Russell's house is much bigger. Probably because there is no point for Randy's parents to buy a bigger one since the occupants are just his brother and himself.
When I stepped in, I saw the big comfortable sofa and I had the urge of throwing myself onto the sofa. But I didn't do it since it was my first time in his house. Is not my house anyway. Then, Randy came telling us Raymond likes to throw himself onto the sofa everytime he steps into his house... Ok, so I'm not the one having this "bad idea".
After we all settled down, Sohaila cut the pieces of papar, while I wrote down the initials and crumpled them into paper balls. I put them into a christmas hat and let people picked their "balls". When we all got our paper, we froze for a moment. Thinking whehter the names we picked are for receiving or for giving. After a short discussion, we decided to receive from the names we have picked. Randy then raised another question, which was directed to me, asking what are the initials I wrote. The only problem is the paper he was holding as he had difficulty reading it. It is because he iwas holding the paper with Huishan's name on it. I wrote Huishan's initial as "IHS". But you could actually turned it over and read it as "SHI", which was most people would interpret as. Haha. My bad!
And this is the exchanging result:

All of us agreed that buying gifts can be a diffcult task, unless we have picked ourselves a name before buying the gift specifically for this person. Well, we will have another round of suspence to think who is going to get whose if we choose not to do that...

After rotting for around 2 weeks at home. It is time to get some party on! Of course, getting the hole in the wallet bigger...
There were 2 Christmas outings on 2 consecutive days: Tuesday and Wednesday (Just yesterday).
While waiting the first group of people,
The first gathering was with Jaclyn's group. I reached the rendezvous point too early. While waiting, I saw one familiar figure walking past me, and I decided to follow him to confirm my guess. And I was right. He's the JC guy I knew him from SCM2010, Jia Hao. He asked me what was I doing there, I couldn't say that I was meeting the people from SCM2010, and I don't know why I couldn't be frank. Initially, I thought he was invited to the outing too, but when his friends called him, I knew I was wrong. Well, we managed to exchange contact and he left immediately. I went to play a bit of arcade to kill some time. Then I went back to the rendezvous point.
A Slight Intro to the Group:
The group consists of several people whom I already know: Jaclyn, Tingting and Huishan. From the gals, I knew 2 more friends, Ann Soon and Yao Long. At first, the time way before I met those guys, I thought they are majoring in Info-System as well, but turns out only the girls are majoring that. The guys are taking the same major as me! Anyway, as a new member, I don't really have anything in common to talk to them other than a bit of uni stuff and SCM2010.
When I reached the point, I saw Tingting, Jaclyn, Huishan and 3 more unknown faces. There are Tingting's secondary friends: May, Melissa and "another" Huishan, who would be joining us for the dinner too. I was a bit surprised for the last last last minute notice. Ok, I was, once again, stunned and loss of words to mingle with new people, and ended up talking BUT not to those girls. The girls also chatted among themselves too, and in fact, most of the time.
The other 2 guys were slightly late. We were waiting for Ann Soon, while Yao Long would meet us right outside the dinner place: Timbre @ Old School. Before you enter the place, we must all climbed a long flight of stairs, which made a lot of them panting frantically... We settled down, and took up quite a bit of time just to decide on our orders... Because I always get to meet people saying "Anything", which includes me as well...
After the meal, there were some leftovers, and people were just silent and listened to the live singing performance. May took the initiative and discussed with Tingting to play a game to finish off the remaining food, and to order more liquor to add more excitement to it. The game was 终极密码. My luck was at the best that night. Out of so many rounds, I only got once, and there was quite to the end before we ended to the game and played the other. Huishan, May, Ann Soon got the most. The other game was the normal drinking game: 5, 10, 15. For that game, May lost the most.
Finally, the gift exchange session arrived. The other 3 girls have the choice to participate, and they decided to reject it, and so it was still the 6 of us exchanging. This was the result:

3. Ann Soon received Huishan's USB-powered Fan

Programming? You've got to be Kidding!
Installing C++ and PHP IDE were the most troublesome thing I have ever done in the holidays. Yup, not much outing for me suring this holiday as I'm really really tight in my budget. Indeed, that is the consequence I have to face for not working in the 3months break holiday. Well, it is also a good thing for me to work on the programming part as I have not been doing any hardcore programming for the semester that has just ended. And that is what I have thought.
Yes, I have made up my mind, and went to the library and borrowed 2 thick books of PHP Programming, gotten an E-book of C+ Programming from Ying Cong . But it turned out a bit useless because I could not figure out the setting for those IDE!!! It looks like I need to link the laptop to the internet for the IDE to have the compiler... And internet access for my laptop from home is impossible... All I have now is using Microsoft Visual Studio to do C++ programming, but it uses Command Prompt to run the code, which I don't really like it... Oh well, just have to stick with it for the time being... So all I have progressed is just a "Hello World!" code...
I have also touched 2 lessons in my Japanese Textbook 2. Haha, or should I put in as "Revised" since I have already done it in the 3 months break.
A bad habit has started to disrupt all of these things mentioned earlier. And that is I have found new games for my NDS! Both of them are mystery solving games, and they are more intriguing than playing PRG game, as you have to follow the plot more closer, and you must not forget what has happened throughout the game to understand the whole story completely. Those are the games that made me forget almost everything as I wish to complete it asap. Well, the good thing for these kind of games is that it only took a few days to complete everything. If you are really hardcore enough, you should be able to finish within 2 days, like reading the thickest book of Harry Potter (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, I believed.).
