The End of the Third Week of December 09

The last day of the 3rd Week, I spent it with Derek, Fang Qi and Derek. Finally, I get to meet them after for so long. Luvena brought us to a Japanese Restaurant in Illuma. The place is called Ebisbahi. It is so special only because of the ordering service, where they waiter would give you a special scanner pen. All you have to do is to just tap on the menu to confirm your order. The food also taste not bad, and we ordered a lot of things that really filled our stomach to its brim!

After that, I can finally catch The Princess and the Frog! A very classical Disney's 2D movie. It's been a while since the last few productions such as Mulan. I kinda forget Disney's 2D movie is like watching an animated musical performance as there will be songs every now and then. Anyway, it is a very nice movie! It really brings you back to the times when you enjoyed watching the old 2D movies. People at our age would think why watch a movie that ends "Happily Ever After", which it is not realistic at all. It is true, but I will only enjoy what is in such movie, and not to think what happen after the "Happily Ever After". It is a fairy tale anyway. Besides, is there any children who like bad ending?

I missed the lame and silly things we always do during each outings. So, we all just brought out our silly selves and made Derek speechless once again. Haha.

That's it. The end of another week. Time really flies. And I have already ORDed for 1 year! Money is also flowing away like waterfall. Now left 3 more weeks!

Caroling in a Cage!

A small gathering organised by Ming Jie was to watch Potato caroling in Wisma Atria! At first, when he told me that, I could not imagine how can he carol... I can only imagine myself laughing all the way throughout the whole session...

Well, the attendance was not very good. Only Meng Yong, Ming Jie and I were there to support him. Ming Jie was one real inconsiderate guy, he laughed almost the whole session and "cheered" at him, making him embarrassed. Meng Yong and I were so embarrassed standing beside him.

However, the weird thing about the performance was the set up of the stage. The stage was actually a cage?! Potato's group was singing in a cage! All 3 of us found it extremely weird, who even came up with such design?

After Potato's long 45 minutes performance, he came up with us to find Kai Yan and leave Meng Yong, who was going for his friend's birthday party. We just step into a restaurant in 313 Somerset called The Hand Burger. The food tastes not bad. Then, we made a stroll down to the Cathay to check if there was any movie to watch. Unfortunately, all seats were fully booked.

As we were already in Dhoby Ghaut and it is so near Paradize Centre, the 3 of them felt like playing LAN. There goes again... I never thought I would step into the LAN shop so fast. Potato was bringing us around the whole place, and amazingly, ALL of the shops were fully occupied. Then, we went into the last shop, and finally got us some places, but we had to sit separately 2 by 2. The game we played was Left 4 Dead 2 (L4D2). I heard of this game before, but I never knew L4D2 is a super new game. Well, I'm not interested to know that anyways. Haha.

The game is better than Counterstrike, I think, because we get to explore many areas. As for CS, we are just playing the same old small map, turning in circles just made me dizzy... Well, my mind is just not made for such games... I still feel a bit dizzy after playing for 2 hours...

It's Just Like That

It was just a normal day waiting for Russell before heading to somewhere together. I intentionally arranged a meeting at 1pm while making a reservation at Settler's Cafe at 2pm. As you can see I'm expecting people to be late. But I didn't expect people to come on the dot.

Hui Shan and Jing Sheng reached at 1pm as "arranged" while Russell and I were "a bit late". We reached Clarke Quay around 1.30pm. We forgot Jing Sheng is the punctual guy ever since we known him during Orientation, but I never thought he "has not learnt" his lesson even what had happened suring Orientation. Haha.

Shortly after meeting Jing Sheng, Ying Cong came shortly and we met up with Hui Shan who was told to stroll around the Central Mall. There was not much things to do, and so we just proceed on to the cafe. We were 10 minutes early before the shop opens, and we were not welcomed to the cafe early, and had to wait outside...

When the place finally opened, we took the sofa seat and started playing Saboteur (A game where digger dig for gold, while Saboteurs try to block the path to the gold). Edwin came later. We had a last round of the game when Yi Jia finally came. In all rounds, the Saboteurs won.

The last person to arrive, Tingting missed the game and joined in the second game of the day, Say Anything You Want (A game where each person take turns to ask question, and the others will write down answer to let the person to pick his favourite answer. The others will then guess which answer he picks). In this game, Jing Sheng won.

The last game was the all-time favourite, Taboo. Not the Big Taboo, the ones I had played during my Surprise Birthday Party. From the game, we learnt many things from Russell. Because there was one word "Choir", and all we have to say, was to point to Russell and say: "Your CCA...", Haha! The second word was "Shaving Cream", and Edwin was trying to point the moustache area and said: "What do you spray here?", Russell could not guess and answered "Insect Repellent" in frustration. Then, there was another "Haha!". And again, Jing Sheng won again...

That wrapped up the session in Settler's Cafe. The overall winner is also a family guy, he went back home for dinner while the rest of us went to the famous Bah Kut Teh for dinner. After that, Hui Shan left and we had a stroll down to Bugis, and had an Arcade session in Illuma. There was a short period of time when Ying Cong realised his wallet had gone missing! We all had the mentality that the people who picked that up would empty the cash and other cards and throw it into any bins. So we went to look for the dustbins in the whole level. Luckily, one kind person picked that wallet up and returned it to him. Phew.

Finally, it was time to go home around 11pm...

The Tortoise and the Hare

On the Wednesday of the Third Week of December, it was a day of playing this famous story, The Tortoise and the Hare.

Alvin, Edwin, Russell and I came out for pool. Before that, we had a short session of super expensive arcade at Zone X in Dhoby Ghaut MRT. Then, had lunch at Long John Silvers. Then, we walked to the Paradize Centre for the pool. Luckily, Edwin has the Safra and we can have discount rate.

We played by 2 groups of 2, and will switch partners after each round, so we will get back the same partner after every 3 rounds since there is only 3 combinations. Edwin and Alvin are really pro-players, both of them trashed Russell and I a lot... After a few rounds, with some guidance of the 2 pros, I starting to get some hang of it. At the start of a new round, I can get a lot balls into the holes, and was expected to win quite fast. However, that was just luck, because in the end, I still lost to either Edwin or Alvin... The rest of the rounds just keep repeating with me hitting many balls into the holes at the start... Sigh. I could only get to hit the black ball once...

After around 3 hours of pool, we went the LAN shop just beside the pool. Yes, my second time playing in the LAN shop. The first time was way long ago when I was still in Secondary School... Initially, we thought of playing Quake 4 (Of course, I don't know what the hell is that.), but the shop was too lousy because they are using duplicate CD key which were not allowed for LAN playing. Hence, we played Counterstrike instead.

This time, Edwin and Russell paired with each other, and there was no changing of partners. I was so lucky to have the pro with me, Alvin is damn pro. He killed Edwin a quite a number of times. In just less than 30 minutes, the points went up to 50 to 3. For me, I really don't know how to play that game, I could only go around and shoot people (Literally, the direction keys WASD and the mouse click to fire. I know nuts about the other keys). I only get the hang of it after 300 rounds... By that time, I was already feeling dizzy. And I kept looking the time, hoping people sitting beside me would realise how late was it... We went in at 3.40pm, then 6.40pm, then 7.40pm, then 8.30pm... I could not stand it... Although Alvin could win solo, the other team's winning points finally caught us up in the end. Another Tortoise and the Hare...

Finally, when the points were evenly matched, they stopped and only then they realised they have played for 5 hours... As for me, I was nearly in drunk-state... This should be my last time playing CS...

The End of the Second Week of December 09

On this week, I need to stay away from my physical training for IPPT to train my brain. It was the week of pre-CS1102 course, where we are given more practices similiar to those we will be encounting in CS1102. Russell, Shaun and Alvin signed up for this course. So we meet up almost everyday on that week. Shaun's friend, from the Faculty of Science also joined this course, and he happens to be my BMT Orion Platoon 3 mate, Zhen Ming. What a coincidence!

The first 3 days, I tried to rack my brain so hard for the solutions, but still cannot beat the smart brains of Zhen Ming and Shaun... In the end, I spent almost the whole afternoon for games... Haha.

On Wednesday, after the course of the day, Shaun, Russell, Edwin, Ying Cong and I booked a buffet dinner in Crystal Jade in Holland V. Yes! My first time trying the Xiao Long Bao and Steamboat Buffet. It just great simply great.
On Thursday, There was no lesson, and so Yi Jia, Russell and I went down to Somerset to hunt for Tingting's belated Birthday Present. It is also a great chance for us to walk through the new Shopping malls in the city area. Nothing much actually. Almost the shops available are repetitive throughout the whole shopping malls in this small island. After walking through the whole 313 Somerset and Orchard Central, we ended up in the Heerens to get her present...
On Friday, after the last lesson of CS1102, we met up the other VeNoM members and headed to Pasir Ris Park for Tingting's Belated Birthday Party. She has a twin, and yes, you can spot the slight difference between Tingting and her sister. But when we met her sister in person, we totally could not recognise who is who. We totally embarassed ourselves... Haha. Ok, at least we still had some fun.
On Saturday, I finally had my first KBox session after the exams. But it was on early afternoon with Yvonne, Luvena and Wee Khiang. As expected, as it was still early, I sang 2 songs, totally out of tune... Haha, still able to feel good after that session. However, KBox is getting more and more expensive. Bentos are not served during KLunch anymore, it became a plate of cheapo Chicken Rice... We should just try to stop patronising it.
On Sunday, I went back to work for Kumon. Haha, glad to see some of the students still remember me! But most of them are the most mischievous ones...
